The last week on the bus began with a fair bit of driving. We left the Northern Territory and headed into South Australia, our next stop the Opal mining town of Coober Pedy. This is a town where it can get so hot that the residents have taken to living under ground.
A quick informative movie was followed by an opal polishing demonstration and a tour of an opal mine. Then it was a quick pass through the mandatory gift shop before settling in to our campsite for the night. The group would spilt in to three tonight, one group staying in underground dorms, one camping in tents and a few grabbing the few huts with air con. It was then off to watch the sun set over the badlands where Mad Max was filmed. A group dinner of pizza was followed by bed, tomorrow we would be in Adelaide and would lose a few more of our OzBus family.
