The Weekend the Weather Came Back!

For all of you who curse those of us in Sydney for our sun blessed weather, I am sure you are very happy to hear that recently the weather has been wet and windy and going to the beach was definitely off the cards. Well not that I want to ruin your enjoyment but this weekend it finally got its act together! The weather was fantastic, after nearly three months of waiting Saturday turned out to be beautiful with clear blue skies as far as the eye can see. We took this opportunity to visit the Sydney Tower which we have had a ticket to since December and were just waiting for the good weather to kick in (we just were not expecting to wait this long!).

The views from up top are amazing, you can see over 50km out to sea and get an amazing 360 view of the City, well worth a visit if you are in town. You can also shell out an extra $40 to climb round the outside of the tower but we decided to opt out of this for now, maybe next time. We then headed in to meet another couple of OzBusers who had returned to Sydney for a while before continuing their travels. We then headed to The Rocks for the evening catching a glimpse of the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria and the final journey of the QE2 on the way.

The end of the evening was spent trying to stay up to catch the six nations rugby, which we failed to do but due to the magic of recordable TV we caught up with the matches in the morning and I am glad to say England, Ireland and Wales all came through victorious! It was then time to head to the beach so we jumped in the car and headed to Manly, one of the more well know beaches in Sydney. After some sun, surf and sandcastle building we packed up and headed for some dinner before heading home to chill out before work on Monday, a great weekend with good company and fantastic weather, what more can you ask for?
