Yet again…they are just friends you haven’t met yet

How did you spend your ANZAC weekend? Did you attend a dawn service or pop to your local and play some 2-Up? Did you go away for the weekend or did you just catch up on that never ending list of things to do around the house?

I spent ANZAC day at my local, we met up with a couple we met at dinner the week before, we had swapped numbers after dinner and said we would meet up the next week. After much debate about: when we should text, is it to early to text, oh they have texted us should we text back straight away? We eventually agreed to meet up and after few beers and deciding that 2-Up was a getting a bit crazy as the police kept showing up to break up the crowds our craving for a quick gamble took the 4 of us to Star City Casino. As usual it was not a profitable trip and we soon decided a take away and beers back at the flat were the way to go to finish the night off.

Our new friends joined us as well and we knocked back a few beers, played some Mario Kart on the Wii (LOVE THIS GAME – thanks for getting it for me Sarah x) and then went our separate ways at the end. It was nice to meet new people and refreshing to spend time with people that have not spent 3 months on a bus with me; I hope to see them again soon.

The rest of the weekend was filled with shopping, some puppy gazing at the pet stores in Bondi and a trip to see the rugby and witness a triumph for the Waratahs over the Sharks, a girl I work with lent us her tickets as she was out of town so we had a great view and a great evening. A relaxed Sunday finished off the long weekend and it was off to bed trying not to think about the fact it was Monday tomorrow.

So in summary we had a great long weekend, met new people, played Mario Kart on the Wii, watched rugby, played with puppies and chilled out, what more can you ask for?
