The morning at Katherine provided several options, a boat tour, kayaking, relaxing in the air conditioned visitor centre or a helicopter ride over the gorge. I went for the helicopter ride but unfortunately they were all fully booked by the time we got there so I settled for the visitor centre and a chance to catch up on my emails and Facebook.
After this we headed out towards Daly Waters, a pub in the middle of nowhere that may be my favourite ever pub. On the way we stopped for a dip at a hot springs which thankfully was not too hot and still very refreshing then carried on to our destination. Thankfully the option to upgrade to an air conditioned room for a nominal fee was available and after a few beers and a bit of beef and barramundi for dinner it was off to bed for a refreshing chilly night in a comfy bed.
